During this tour you will visit most popular sightseeing places in Panama City, starting from Panamá Viejo, which is an exceptional testimony of colonial town planning; the ruins of its cathedral, convents and public buildings showcase unique technological and stylistic characteristics of its temporal and cultural contex, then we will cross the Modern city and Balboa avenue to the Old Quarter, declared by UNESCO World Heritage site. Here our will guide share with you interesting stories related to Panamanian history, it’s Spanish and Colombian periods. You will walk around middle centuries narrow streets, with colonial houses and small cozy restaurants, coffe shops, souvenir shops and galeries. Finally we will visit the former US military zone, so called “Canal Zone” wich use to be an administrative center of US in Panama. We will go to the Causeway, wich is a wavebreaker connecting three islands with mainland. Miraflores Locks at the Panama Canal Visitors Center is the perfect place to witness how the Panama Canal works. From the observation decks, visitors may watch the lock gates open and close as vessels begin or end their transit. Through the exhibitions, you can learn about the Panama Canal’s history, its impact on international trade, how it works, its close relationship with nature and the Canal Expansion. A 3D movie portrays the story of the waterway.
