SAFARI-TOUR ON GATUN LAKE
7,5 - 8 hours
Brief description: This is the most complete day tour being conducted on Gatun Lake. Tour the lake to see the flora, fauna, and ships transiting the canal. Witness history in the making as we pass close by work being carried out to expand the canal.
Breakfast at the hotel. After pick you up from the hotel at 08:30 AM, our tour heads to the Soberania National Park where the town of Gamboa is situated.
First, you tour the Chagres River by motor launch entering the Panama Canal where you can see very close the ships transiting the canal. Then, you go to the islands to see wildlife. Here you will find abundant fauna represented by tortoises, crocodiles, and several kinds of monkeys such as capuchins, tamarins, and howler monkeys. If you are lucky enough, you can even see some manatees, sometimes known as sea cows.
Later, our journey takes us to a floating lodge deep in the jungle. Here we will enjoy a delicious native-style lunch with refreshments. After lunch you may take part in a variety of other activities at no additional charge. We offer swimming, fishing, hiking, and kayaking. If not, just take a nap in a lovely hammock; sunbathe; or simply swim at the waterfall or in the lake next to the crocodiles. Whatever you choose, there is no doubt you will enjoy the tranquility of a very special place.
At 04:00 PM, we will go back to the port of the town of Gamboa.
